Katie Morrell Yanguez Woodland, APRN, FNP, DNP
Katie is a nationally board certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate of Advanced Nursing Practice from the University of Utah.
Katie has been in primary care for eight years providing care in community health for low-income, immigrant and refugee populations. Due to lack of resources in these communities, she has had the opportunity to develop a wide range of care from infants to elderly populations. She has extensive experience in prenatal care, newborns, infants, children and women’s health including gynecology and contraception management. She also has broad experience with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic pain, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, weight loss and other disease management. She is able to provide minor procedures such as skin biopsies, birth control insertion and removals, superficial cyst removals and other.
Prior to working in the primary care setting Katie worked in mental health nursing and worked with non-profit organizations. She collaborated in a variety of projects including establishing clinics in Ethiopia, building and supporting orphanages in Haiti and Ecuador, building low income housing in Panama, and developments to provide safe houses for street or sex trafficked women and children in Peru, among other projects.
Katie is fluent in English and Spanish.
In her downtime Katie enjoys traveling and spending time with her children, husband and extensive family.
